All the information on this site is provided to you for free.
Please consider that this site is maintained and updated by an individual as a service to the community at large and as a tribute to its founder, Elmer Eddy. It takes a lot of time to answer questions and email, generate content, write new articles, moderate comments, and update this site. It also takes a significant amount of money to host and maintain this site ad free. We only track visitor information for usage statistics and to maintain an e-mail distribution list. We do not and will not sell or trade user information (1).
There are no ads on this site. It is supported solely through contributions from people like you. If you find this site useful and interesting, please make a donation to help support it. Donations should be made to WATERWAYSTEWARDS US, 205 Spann Rd., Trenton, NC 28585. Thanks!
There are other ways to help, too. Please Contact Us if you would like to write articles and post to this site. After vetting, we can grant you rights to post directly to the blog or even create your own blogroll on our site! This would be especially appreciated because Elmer’s vision was to take the Waterway Stewards concept statewide and even nationwide. We can create a blogroll with a unique address such as trentriver_waterwaystewards_us (underscores replace periods to avoid spurious automatic link generation) for different authors, regions, and waterways.
Please be a contributor to this site however you can. Thanks!
(1) In 2011, we did share our e-mail list with the White Oak-New Riverkeeper Alliance, with which Elmer considered merging, but the merger did not happen. All e-mail subscribers shared with the White Oak-New Riverkeeper Alliance were given the option to opt out of e-mails at that time. This author (John) was briefly on the Board of the White Oak-New Riverkeeper Alliance, and greatly appreciates and applauds their complimentary efforts.
